The Carl & Mary Koehler History Center has been preserving and showcasing the history of Linn County for more than 40 years. Exhibits focus on Native American culture, immigration, agriculture, local industry, and important local people.
The city also hosts an African American Historical Museum and Cultural Centre focussing on Black culture in Iowa.
Having been in continuous operation since 1921, Orchestra Iowa is one of the oldest symphony orchestras west of the Mississippi River. This professional organization gives more than 100 performances around Eastern Iowa every year, with regular performances at the Sinclair Auditorium, the Englert Theatre, and US Cellular Centre.
