In the heart of the southern Piedmont between the mountains and the coast lies Charlotte, the "Queen City" of the South. Charlotte thrives on banking, but is much more than a busy financial center.
Nightlife
Central Station (2131 Central Ave) neighborhood cocktail bar hang out with drag shows and pool tables.
Charlotte Eagle (4544 South Blvd) mostly man's bar with leather, country-western dancing, and patio, Chasers (3217 The Plaza) young male strippers in brief thongs, Club Myxx (3110 S. Tryon St) young, mixed crowd (gay/straight/black/white/men/women) dances to hip hop and reggaeton, Faces Night Club (2815 Crisman St) mostly male 18-plus dancing to hip hop and R&B, stripped down and hot, some shows.
Hartigan's Irish Pub & Restaurant (601 S. Cedar St) gay /straight mixed neighborhood hang-out on two floors, wth patio, Wi-Fi, live music, and karaoke.
Liaisons (316 Rensselaer) in the Dilworth neighborhood, opens from 5pm daily with food -weekly plate-lunch specials, homemade cheesecake, and great drink prices.
The Nickel Bar (2817 Rozzelles Ferry Rd) neighborhood African-American dance club for 25-plus only, house and R&B music.
The Scorpio (2301 Freedom) a large dance and show club with diverse gay crowd.
Sidelines Bar (4544 South Blvd) sports bar with internet jukebox, pool games, Wi-Fi connection and food -next to the Eagle.
Tutto Mondo (1820 South Blvd) gay-friendly lounge with dancing.
Velocity (935 Summit S. Summit Ave) a neighborhood bar and dance club playing techno music.
Woodshed (4000 Queen City Dr) men's leather and bear bar.
